IEEE Student Branch of Vishwakarma Government Engineering College successfully organized a hands-on workshop on ‘Getting started with Robotics’ on Friday, 24th March 2017. Students across the state from different colleges took part in this workshop. The daylong session, conducted in Viswesvaraya Auditorium of VGEC, was addressed by Mr. Priyank Shah.
Robots – the future generation technology – are rapidly growing on a high pace in the modern world. Considering this idea, IEEE VGEC Student Branch made a sincere effort through this interactive session, to introduce the budding engineers of India to the world of robotics.
Event Title - Code Mania 1.0.
Event Date - 2017-01-23
Code Mania is a mind sport usually held over the Internet or a local network (Portal Name – Hacker Rank), involving participants trying to program according to provided specifications. Contestants are referred to as sport programmers. A Code Mania involves the host presenting a set of logical or mathematical problems to the contestants (who can vary in number from tens to several thousands), and contestants are required to write computer programs capable of solving each problem. Judging is based mostly upon number of problems solved and time spent for writing successful solutions, but may also include other factors (quality of output produced, execution time, program size, etc.)
Typical such tasks belong to one of the following categories: combinatorics, number theory, graph theory, geometry, string analysis and data structures
Event Title - “Expert lecture on how to do good Research Work”.
Event Date - 2016-03-03
How to do research on some topic is very important because it is something that is very important in any individual life. Research is doing continuous study on some specific topic and at last coming with some new brilliant idea. This event was fullly based on these topic.
Event Title - Expert Talk on Raspberry PI and IoT
Event Date - 2016-07-02
Recently on Saturday i.e. on 02/07/2016 IEEE Vishwakarma Government Engineering College Student Branch has conducted the expert session on the Raspberry Pi and Internet Of Things(IoT). This Expert Lecture was conducted by Mr. Tushar Champaneria who has a great knowledge about the raspberry pi and IoT.
The Seminar was conducted from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Visvesvaraya Auditorium Of the Vishwakarma Government Engineering College. There were many topics that were discussed in the seminar like how to send the commands to the raspberry pi, how to receive the data from the raspberry pi and the benefits of it.
For today’s generation raspberry pi is the most important medium to build a smart project which can give benefits to the environment. Raspberry Pi is very small and you don’t need a computer, desk or anything to place it. It’s Quiet and you don’t have to worry about noise at all and most important advantage is that is cheap and does not need a monitor or keyboard for initial setup.
The economic impact and benefits of IoT will be huge. It can be used for tracking behavior for real-time marketing, Enhanced situational awareness, Sensor-driven decision and analytics, Process Optimization, Optimized resource consumption and instantaneous control and response in complex autonomous systems.
With all these benefits and application these two topics are in a great demand in the market for developing user-friendly things. Large number of students from different colleges has attended this lecture and were very much excited to do some project on these topics.
The initiative was taken by the Vishwakarma Government Engineering College IEEE Student Branch. And we will again let you know about the future evens and workshops.
